Authorities in Florida said that a naked man who was acting erratically in a state park has died in custody.
Brevard County Sheriff's Office spokesman Cpl. Dave Jacobs said in a news release that 57 years old Peter Robinson, of West Palm Beach, was detained for an evaluation on Saturday morning after he was spotted naked in the water of the Sebastian Inlet State Park.
Jacobs says Robinson was incoherent and appeared to be under the influence of a substance. He was taken to a hospital immediately, where he was pronounced dead. It was unclear how he died.
Authorities said that Robinson had evaded police earlier, who tried to stop him for driving erratically in the Indian River Shores area.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been investigating Robinson's death.
