Analysis

Petta Movie Review, Rating, Story, Cast and Crew

Petta has a decent first half despite of the major plot not being unfolded. The film thrills Rajinikanth's fans as it is laced with loads of his stylish mannerisms. Rajinikanth looks uber cool and carries the entire film on his shoulders. The songs have been canned well though they make no good tunes to listen. The entertainment is passable and the film is laced with huge dose of Tamil flavor. The interval episodes make the film interesting and keep up the expectations on the second half.

The second half of Petta will leave the audience in splits because of the poor narration. The director fails to narrate it in an interesting way which will not go well with the audience. Even Rajini's fans will be badly disappointed with the film. The major twists are unfolded in a bad manner. The songs too have been poorly presented and the film drops down badly in the last twenty minutes. The second half of Petta is a huge misfire.

Performance

Rajinikanth nails it in style and has been top class with his energetic performance and dance moves. The actor will be loved to watch and his fans will be thrilled to watch the acts of vintage Rajinikanth. Simran and Trisha have limited assignments and they did their roles well. Nawazzudin Siddiqui nails it in style and delivers one more remarkable performance in the film. Vijay Sethupathy and Bobby Simha have been outstanding in their roles. All the other actors were good.

Petta has no interesting and exciting plot except the elevations of Rajinikanth and his mannerisms. The screenplay has been pale though the dialogues looked good. The music and the background score have been ok and they look decent. The cinematography work elevates the film and the production values look grand. Karthik Subbaraj fails to utilize the opportunity with Rajinikanth.

Final Word

Petta stands low on content and stands tall with Rajinikanth's mannerisms.
