Ex-New York Giants linebacker arrested for DUI, Florida

Football great Lawrence Taylor was arrested on Friday for drunk driving after he sideswiped a patrol car and a motor home in Florida.

The ex-Giants linebacker and Hall of Famer was driving a Bentley in Palm Beach Gardens, about an hour north of Miami, when he struck the two vehicles while trying to switch lanes at 5:20 PM.

The crash only damaged the patrol car’s side mirror and no injuries were reported, according to the news station, which cited Florida Highway Patrol.

Taylor, 57 years old, was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. Taylor played his entire career with the Giants, winning two Super Bowls before retiring after the 1993 season.

An admitted cocaine user as a player, Taylor’s post-NFL career has been marked by run-ins with the law.

In June, Taylor’s wife was arrested in nearby Pembroke Pines for domestic violence after throwing “an unknown object” at the star player, leaving a three-inch gash in his head.

In 2010, he pleaded guilty to patronizing a prostitute and having sex with a minor. He was placed on six years' probation.

A jury later ruled in Taylor's favor after a teen prostitute filed a civil suit against him, alleging the gridiron legend had forced himself on her.

The teen’s lawyer, Mariann Wang, charged, “He took a terrorized 16-year-old girl and used her like a piece of meat," .

Taylor has also been arrested twice for attempting to buy crack.
