Shabana Plays a Pakistani woman in BBC film ‘Capital’Hollywood News

Veteran boolywood star Shabana Azmi has been portraying a Pakistani woman role in British BBC film entitled ‘Capital’. According her statements, she is playing a feisty Pakistani mother whose son is locked up for terrorist activities.

The movie is set on a single street in South London, is an adaptation of John Lanchester's critically acclaimed and bestselling novel of the same name.

The BBC One mini-series drama will also star Toby Jones, Lesley Sharp, Wunmi Mosaku, Adeel Akhtar, Rachael Stirling, Gemma Jones, Robert Emms, Bryan Dick and Radoslaw Kaim. The TV drama is being directed by Euros Lyn, who was popular with 'Last Tango in Halifax' and 'Happy Valley'.

Shabana said media, “I had no idea that Kudos is one of the biggest production houses in UK or that the star line-up is so spectacular!I don't think any of them except the producer Matt and director Euros Lynn know anything about me either!"
