Analysis

Dobaara: See Your Evil Movie Review, Rating, Story, Cast and Crew

Dobaara has an interesting first half however it is not at all scary as projected in the trailer. The makers made sure that there are not many characters in the film. The performances by the lead actors make the film interesting however the film lacks engaging narration in many aspects. Some of the interesting episodes have been badly presented. One couldn’t initially make out if Alex Merchant was possessed or schizophrenic. The interval episodes get convinced that the film is a psychological thriller.

The second half of the film too has been loosely executed and will leave the audience confused. Many of the interesting episodes have been clearly ignored and the major plot has been sidelined. The performances by the lead actors drive the film completely. The pre-climax episodes make the film interesting and the climax has been completely predictable. On the whole, Dobaara has a second half that will leave the audience disappointed.

Performance

Adil Hussain has been exceptional in the film and he has been flawless. Lisa Ray has been decent and apt for the role. Saqib Salem strikes hard with his performance in the movie and he has long way to travel. Huma Qureshi has been ok but she needs to improve a lot with her expressions. Madalina Bellariu is impressive as the spirit of the mirror, Anna. All the other actors looked perfect in their roles.

The story of Dobaara has been interesting and well written. The screenplay looks loose and the dialogues looked interesting. The music and the cinematography are the major assets of the film. The editing and the production values have been decent. The director fails to make Dobaara into an interesting horror film as the film lacks scary content.

Final Word

Dobaara is the remake of Hollywood film Oculus but unfortunately it leaves the audience without scaring them. Dobaara can be called as a thriller rather than a horror film.
