The quote "Sometimes when you least expect it, good things happen" turned to be on the mark to an Indian-origin man, who lives in Florida, and the one who is not the kind of person who buys lottery tickets.

Still and all, Krishna Barri, put his luck to test and decided to buy a lottery ticket, and here it is - he hit the jackpot - $14.5 million to be precise.

He bought ten tickets on December 1st, 2018 at the Zephyrhills Publix Liquor Store in Tampa, Florida.

"I started looking at the tickets, the first ticket, second ticket, third ticket. Oh my god, that's it! It was an amazing feeling. I called my wife. I said, 'We got the lottery!' and she said, 'Wow, are you kidding me?' I said, 'No. That's true'." he added.

Barri who came to the United States to study with the help of his brother-in-law 20 years ago, has decided to donate some money for the education of 100 people in his native land.

"I came here to do my masters. I struggled. I did the part-time jobs. I worked for a bookstore, I worked at the Sun Dome, standing in the parking lot for 12 hours working for $6.25." he added.

"He's not here anymore to celebrate with me, but the trust is going to be in his name," said Barri.

Barri said he also wants to buy a new house and car for his family. He also plans to put aside a sum of money for his children's education.
