Police on Tuesday found the body of a pregnant woman in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The suspect in the case is the woman’s husband, who authorities believe also killed her father.

Martine Bernard, 21, was found dead Tuesday morning near a Fort Lauderdale apartment complex. Her husband, 23-year-old Cassandritz Blanc, has been arrested and charged with murder.

“I want to know what’s going on. I haven’t been able to contact her, nothing. This is my youngest sister, my only sister,” Joane Bernard said.Martine Bernard, who was found before the sun came up, was six months pregnant.

“The body was discovered in an unknown location at the residence. Right now, all that is part of the investigation, whether it was inside or outside,” said Casey Liening with Fort Lauderdale police.

Her father’s body was found Monday near his Hollywood, Fla. home. He had been missing since Saturday.

“Blanc is also the suspect in the death of Martine’s father, Roosevelt Bernard,” Miranda Grossman, with the Hollywood police, said. Roosevelt Bernard’s family got worried when he missed a party over the weekend.

His son, who is a police officer in south Florida, called authorities when he found blood in the home, but the tragedy would get worse when Martine Bernard also disappeared.

“This is a movie. This doesn’t happen in real life. It’s like unbelievable,” Joane Bernard said. Now, the family is dealing with the loss of a father, daughter and her unborn child.
