Hurricane Irma is now Targeting Florida after causing at least 20 deaths in Caribbean

Hurricane Irma has struck Cuba’s north coast as millions of Florida residents are ordered to evacuate after the storm killed at least 20 people in the Caribbean.

Irma Struck Cuba with 260 kms per hour winds early on Saturday, the US National Hurricane Centre said after upgrading the storm to its most powerful classification of category five.

Then again the storm was degraded to category 4 after it weakened slightly as the eye of storm moved over the Camaguey Archipelago. The scenes of disaster n Cuba have resembled to that of Caribbean.

More than 6 million people across the US states of Florida and Georgia were warned to leave their homes. Florida governor told south Floridians to get out or seek a bunker or shelter.

He said “We don’t want anybody on these roads when the storm’s coming through”.

"This is a storm that will kill you if you don't get out of the way," National Hurricane Centre meteorologist and spokesman Dennis Feltgen said.

US President Donald Trump said in a videotaped statement that Irma was "a storm of absolutely historic destructive potential" and called on people to cooperate with government officials and law enforcement.

1,700 Florida Highway Patrol Officials were working 12-hours shifts to help people evacuate.
