Family missing in Florida: 1 body found

The US Coast guard informed that one body is found at the time of searching a family, last seen on 29 foot sailboat off Florida southwest coast.

The coast guard stated in a press conference on Wednesday evening, that they have recovered a body within the search area, that had a life vest on, but they have not informed which one of the four family member it is. CBS affiliate WTSP reported, that there is still no sign of the sailboat.

The coast guard along with other agencies, will help searching through the night using sonar technology. Another press conference with an update on the search is expected at 10 AM on Thursday.

The coast guard tweeted Wednesday that two kayaks, being pulled by the sailboats, were found and they also found the life jackets while searching for the family.

Captain Gregory Case said, after the debris were spotted by the air in the Gulf of Mexico, the coast guard contacted a nearby boater. The tarp, water jugs, six life jackets and a propane tank were then identified by the brother of 45-year-old Ace Kimberly, who had been living on the sailboat with his children for a year.

Kimberly left Sarasota on Sunday, with 13-year-old Roger, 15-year-old Donny and 17-year-old Rebecca, for Fort Myers to have the boat repaired.

Case said that Kimberly's brother alerted the Coast Guard on Tuesday after they failed to arrive . The brother said their last word came on Sunday, when Ace Kimberly told him they were sailing in "6-foot seas and thunderstorms."
