Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies said that, someone threw some kind of explosive toward a motel parking lot in the Porter. The incident happened at the Palace Inn, 24085 Highway 59, at around 6 p.m.

A news release said that, the suspect walked up, holding a shoe, asking the another person if "they wanted to see something cool."

The deputies are searching for the man, who threw the bomb in the motel parking lot.

That is when the shoe exploded causing a loud concussion and debris flying all across the parking lot. Adults and also children were in the parking lot when it went off.

Thomas Burnett said that, “there is a spark, explosion then kaboom.”

Those who were inside their rooms were startled by the noise which came because of the explosion.

Douglas Bates said that, "the first little boom and then the second it went across the parking lot and flew across to where my kids was playing and hit him in the face.”

His son Chanting did not know what hit him. He also said that, "my ears were ringing and my face is still numb."

Residents said that the man had just checked in, some of them even had a brief conversation with the man.

Josh Williams said that, he was not thinking straight. Especially to just pull it out in front and blow it up in front of people you do not know.

They say that he then said, "watch this" and pulled something from his car and then lit it in the shoe. Burnett added that, "he started screaming I did not do nothing, I did not do nothing and jumped in his car and took off."

Investigators believe that it was some type of firework. Sheriff's Deputies with the Montgomery County said they are looking for the man who drove off in a 2004 Blue Lexus SUV with the license plate GH42LC.
